Fandango Screens ‘Rocketman’ Two Weeks Before Release

With more movies going on the route with early screenings to the public, it was only a matter of time before another high profile release received that treatment. Fandango is now teaming up with Paramount to do early screenings of the Elton John biopic, Rocketman.

The musical biopic that is set to release on May 31st is having nationwide screenings starting May 18th, two weeks before its initial release date. 400 theaters will be holding the screening from various chains including AMC, Regal, and Harkins to name a few.

It’ll be the third major Fandango pre-screening for a high profile blockbuster this year, previously with Shazam, How to Train Your Dragon 3, and The LEGO Movie 2 all having screenings weeks prior to release. Given that the stunt leads to some bonus box office revenue, it’s expected that these pre-screenings will do fairly well for the Elton John biopic.

Ryan Pineda: When it comes to film, animation, video games and other mediums, I can discuss for hours about how much on why certain films and animated media made me the person I am today. I adore the artistic merit that comes from a lot of pop-culture media and will definitely love to have a conversation about favorite movies any day! I have graduated in 2017 with a BA in Film and Television at the University of Arizona. Been passionate about writing about films due to always having an interesting outlook on the medium. Will always see a film and will definitely be sure to recommend it to someone that I know for a fact would love that movie. Not only that but will also give reasons for why I think that film did or did not work as a movie, and the same can go for other pieces of media like television, video games and especially animated projects.
