Ezra Miller will appear in a Vermont courthouse this Friday to accept the plea deal offered to them. The Flash star – who is non-binary and uses they/them pronouns – was arrested last October after breaking into their neighbor’s house in May and stealing three bottles of liquor. The actor initially pleaded not guilty.
As part of the deal, Miller will plead guilty to trespassing but will be cleared of burglary and petit larceny charges. The actor initially faced up to a 25 years sentence. Instead, they will have to pay a fine of $692 but avoid jail time. The state’s penalty for such a crime is imprisonment for “not more than three months or fined not more than $500.00 or both.” Miller will be fined the maximum amount plus a surcharge of $192.
This is the latest development in Miller’s growing legal troubles and controversies. In the spring of 2022, the We Need to Talk About Kevin thespian was seen choking woman at a bar in Reykjavik but was not arrested. In March, they were charged twice for second-degree assault after throwing a chair at a woman outside a karaoke bar in Hawaii.
Their future with Warner Bros. remains unclear. The actor met with studio bosses and issued an apology. The Flash is expected o be released this June.
