After the announcement that Josh Andrés Rivera will join the Hunger Games: Ballad Of The Songbirds And Snakes, it is now known that Euphoria’s Hunter Schafer is also part of the cast of the Hunger Games prequel along with Tom Blyth and Rachel Zegler. Schafer will star as Tigris Snow, “Coriolanus’ (Tom Blyth) cousin and confidant, who advises him in everything — from his role as mentor to the core of his moral compass.”
The film takes place in the post-war capital and follows the Snow family, who have fallen from grace. As the 10th Hunger Games approaches, young Coriolanus Snow is assigned to mentor District 12 tribute Lucy Gray Baird (Zegler).
The prequel will be directed by Francis Lawrence, who directed Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Mockingjay Part, and Mockingjay Part 2. Little Miss Sunshine writer Michael Arndt and Hunger Games creator Suzanne Collins have written the latest draft of the script.
Schafer made her acting debut in HBO’s highly praised series Euphoria in which she played Jules. In 2021, she was included in the TIME100 Next list which “highlights 100 emerging leaders who are shaping the future.” Schafer is currently participating in the upcoming Neon horror feature Cuckoo, which is written and directed by Tilman Singer.
