Four time Academy Award nominee Ethan Hawke is bringing his next true story to the big screen in the film Blaze. The Texan true story stars Ben Dickey in his first feature film as Blaze Foley, a singer-songwriter from Austin, Texas who found success in the ’70s and ’80s, though he ended up murdered in a tragic shooting.
The film debuted at this year’s Sundance film festival and has already earned strong reviews, including for Ben Dickey, who received a Special Prize for Achievement in Acting. Alia Shawkat, Sam Rockwell, Wyatt Russell, and Steve Zahn also star.
Hawke’s previous directorial work includes 2006’s The Hot State as well as his latest work in 2014 for the documentary, Seymour: An Introduction, which chronicles the life and legacy of Seymore Bernstein.
