‘Entourage’ Movie Update – Actors All on Board, Production Starts in January

In what seems to be a photo-finish, Warner Bros has come to an agreement with the members of the Entourage cast that were unhappy with the terms of their contracts. According to a tweet by Doug Ellin, the show’s creator and the writer-director for the film, January 16th is officially the day that production begins on the big-screen follow up to Ellin’s hit HBO series.

This October there had been a very public back and forth between Entourage executive-producer Mark Wahlberg and star Adrian Grenier about the discrepancies in the actors’ salaries, with Jeremy Piven receiving a lion’s share of the film’s backend. That hold-up threatened Entourage‘s opportunity to receive a California film tax credit from the California Film Commission program which would give them a 20% tax credit on the $30 million dollar budget.

The movie will pick up where the series left-off and audiences will discover whether or not Jeremy Piven’s Ari Gold character took the chance of a lifetime – to be the chairman of one of the biggest movie studios of all time, a tease that was set-up in a tag at the end of the credits of the last episode of the show. Returning to the movie will be Adrian Grenier, playing fictional actor Vincent Chase, Kevin Connolly, Kevin Dillon, and Jerry Ferrara.
