‘Endings Are A Bitch’; Jamie Lee Curtis Talks Saying Goodbye To ‘Halloween’

Jamie Lee Curtis reprising her role as Laurie Strode in Halloween (2018)

The last time a film with Jamie Lee Curtis premiered was this year with the awkwardly funny Everything, Everywhere, All at Once, film in which Curtis shows her versatility as an actress. Her character demonstrates a wide range and it is far from her beginnings as a scream queen with beloved slasher franchise Halloween. Halloween is coming to an end this week with the premiere of its latest film entitle Halloween Ends and the actress talked about her career this weekend at the New York Comic Con.

Maybe Laurie Strode would be thrilled about finally saying goodbye to Michael Myers, however Curtis is not so excited – “Endings are a bitch, but so is Laurie Strode”- she said. The actress talked about how difficult is for her to let Halloween go. Laurie Strode marked the beginning of Curtis’ acting career at age 19 and has been accompanying her through the years, Curtis stated:

“At this point, Jamie and Laurie have become woven together. There is no separation…I don’t have anything in my life without Laurie Strode. Nothing. I wouldn’t have a career, I wouldn’t have a family.”

Curtis also worked also in Halloween II, Halloween III, Halloween H20 and Halloween: Resurrection.  Then after that last appearance, in 2018 she came back to the saga for a new trilogy that is now ending. When asked about why she returned, Curtis said- “I will say goodbye when I’m dead”. The actress also expressed that she never thought the franchise would grow so much.

Michael Myers has become a pop culture icon and Halloween’s theme song composed by John Carpenter (also director of the 1978 film) is recognized by everyone.

Halloween Ends  is directed by David Gordon Green and distributed by Universal Studios. It premieres this October 14 in theaters.
