Eli Roth’s ‘Borderlands’ Adds Janina Gavankar, the Latest of Stars to Join the Video Game Adaptation

The Morning Show actress Janina Gavankar has joined Eli Roth’s adaptation of popular video game Borderlands at Lionsgate. Gavankar will play Commander Knoxx, a new and important character in the film.

Borderlands follows Lilith (Blanchett), an infamous outlaw with a mysterious past, reluctantly returns to her home planet of Pandora to locate the lost daughter of the universe’s most powerful S.O.B., Atlas (Ramirez). Lilith forms an unlikely alliance with an unexpected team to help her. There is Roland (Hart), a former elite mercenary seeking redemption; Tiny Tina (Greenblatt), a wild pre-teen demolitionist; Krieg (Munteanu), Tina’ musclebound rhetorically trouble protector; Tannis (Curtis), the scientist with a shaky hold on sanity; and Claptrap (Black), a persistent wiseass robot. These unlikely heroes must fight against alien monsters and deadly robbers in order to locate and defend the lost child, who could hold the secret to unfathomable strength. The destiny of the world may be in their hands, but they’ll be fighting over something more important: each other.

Cassandra Reichelt: I graduated from California State University of Long Beach in Spring 2021 with a degree in Journalism major. I did attend Long Beach City College for a couple of years, I then transferred to CSULB in 2019. I want to write something outside the normal, something no one would think to write about in a unique way. It also shows how far I am willing to go to produce something amazing that will get more readers interested in the world of Journalism. I am on my way to making a professional life for myself.
