Dylan O’Brien Joins Searchlight Satire ‘Not Okay’ Opposite Zoey Deutch

The star of the hit MTV series Teen Wolf, Dylan O’Brien, joins leading lady Zoey Deutch in the satire film Not Okay. The writer and director behind the project is Quinn Shephard, who is best known for writing, directing, and starring in the drama Blame, which starred Chris Messina and Tate Donovan.

The plot of Not Okay follows a naive young woman desperate for friends and fame who fabricates a vacation to Paris in order to boost her social media profile. When a frightening incident happens in the real world and becomes a part of her fake trip, her white lies become a moral conundrum that provides her with all the attention she oh so craves.

Mia Isaac (You Could Have Done Better), Embeth Davidtz (Matilda, Old), Nadia Alexander (Blame), Tia Dionne Hodge (666 Park Avenue), Negin Farsad (Emergence), Karen Soni (Miracle Workers, Deadpool), and newcomer Dash Perry rounds out the rest of the cast.

O’Brien can be seen most recently in Antoine Fuqua’s Infinite on Paramount Plus, starring Mark Wahlberg that came out in June.

O’Brien and Deutch are also starring together in the crime drama The Outfit.

Not Okay has already begun filming in New York City and will premiere exclusively on Hulu in the U.S. and globally on Star.
