Dwayne Johnson will lead a SEAL Team against demons, cults, and other supernatural threats in SEAL Team 666. Johnson will also serve as executive producer along with Macmillan Films. No director has been announced.
SEAL Team 666 comes from a book of the same name by Bram Stoker award winner Weston Ochse. The story follows Jack Walker, a SEAL-in-training who, along with a few other recruits and one dog, gets recruited for a team that specializes in repelling the occult. Evan Spiliotopoulos has already written the script. Spiliotopoulos’ output consists mostly of Disney direct-to-video animated fare, although he did write the screenplay for MGM’s upcoming Hercules: The Thracian Wars, which also stars Johnson. Given the shared lead actor and screenwriter, the success of Hercules will likely influence how production on SEAL Team 666 proceeds. If Hercules is a hit, expect to hear more about this one later in the summer of 2014.
