The Marvel team is invading Jimmy Kimmel Live all week in preparation for Captain America: Civil War‘s expected big-screen dominance next month. Tagging along in the publicity spree comes the debut of the first trailer of Marvel’s upcoming Doctor Strange. The darkly psychedelic outing stars Oscar nominated Benedict Cumberbatch (The Imitation Game) in the title role. Scott Derrickson (Sinister) directs from a script from C. Robert Cargill and Joe Spaihts.
Dr. Stephen Strange is a brilliant surgeon, yet his career may be ruins in a large part due to his ego. He finds redemption, as well as a nice outlook on life, after a power sorcerer takes charge and trains the good doctor to fight the world against evil. The sprawling ensemble cast includes Oscar winner Tilda Swinton (Michael Clayton) and former Oscar nominees Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years a Slave) and Rachel McAdams (Spotlight). Also joining in on the fun are Michael Stulhbarg (Steve Jobs), Mads Mikkleson (The Hunt), Scott Adkins (Zero Dark Thirty) and Amy Landecker (Transparent). Check out the first trailer for Doctor Strange below.
Marvel also released the first teaser one-sheet for the film earlier today. Doctor Strange is set to hit theaters on November 4th.
