A brand new trailer for Disney’s upcoming film Raya And The Last Dragon has been released and it showcased the original song Lead The Way by R&B artist Jhené Aiko. The film will tell the story of the world of Kumandra, where humans and dragons lived together in harmony, but when evil monsters called the Druun threatened the land, the dragons ended up sacrificing themselves to save humanity. Now, 500 years have passed, and those same monsters have returned. This time, it’s up to a lone warrior, Raya, and her pet pill bug companion Tuk Tuk to save humanity.
The trailer has Raya narrating the history of her home, and how its people have been divided. Her father’s voice then says,: “We can be unified again. But someone has to take the first step”. After this, scenes of Raya’s friends including the dragon Sisu are shown, with the song Lead the Way accompanying the trailer.
The film is directed by Don Hall and Carlos López Estrada from a script by Paul Briggs and John Ripa. It stars Kelly Marie Tran, Awkwafina, Gemma Chan, Daniel Dae Kim, Sandra Oh, Benedict Wong, Izaac Wang, Thalia Tran, Alan Tudyk, Lucille Soong, Patti Harrison and Ross Butler. Raya and the Last Dragon was originally supposed to premiere last year, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was delayed. The film will now premiere in theaters and Disney+ on March 5th.
