As stated by Screenrant, the live-action film of Disney’s Tangled is receiving backlash for changing its iconic color scheme from purple and gold to blue and yellow. An X account titled Tangled Updates disclosed an on-set image of the film’s banner taking a new direction that showcases the differences from the animated film.
Disney live-action films tend to be on the hot seat for comments and backlash from their accumulation. The recent live-action Snow White caught a lot of fans’ attention for its portrayal of the original personality of Snow White, making her more independent when she is more soft-spoken in the 1930s film. However, there are success stories in the live-action Disney films such as Cinderella, The Jungle Book and Lilo & Stitch.
Other news include first look set images of Rapunzel’s tower and how Maximus the Horse will return. The film stars Teagan Croft (Titans, Woman of a Certain Sage) as Rapunzel, Milo Manheim (Zombies, American Housewife) as Flynn Ryder, Kathryn Hahn (How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, Step Brothers) as Mother Gothel and Diego Luna (Andor, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) as a mysterious role. Michael Gracey (Better Man, The Greatest Showman) directs. The screenplay is written by Michael Montemayor (Court Date, Stepsisters) and Jennifer Kaytin Robinson (Do Revenge, Unpregnant). Manheim’s mother Camryn Manheim (Ghost Whisperer, The Practice) shared on Instagram images of the cast and the location of the film.
The film is an adaptation of the 2010 animated film of the same name. Production has started but no announcement for a premiere date has been released to the public.
