While anticipation has been brewing for upcoming Disney films on the company’s new streaming platform Disney+, Disney has announced the service’s international launch date. On November 12, Canada and the Netherlands will have access to Disney+, along with the United States; one week after this date, people living in Australia and New Zealand will be able to start watching films on Disney+, according to CNN.
In terms of pricing, Disney+ will cost around the same in the locations it will be available in. For example, the platform will cost $6.99 per month in the U.S., $8.99 CAD in Canada, and $8.99 AUD per month in Australia.
Along with disclosing the rollout dates on Monday, Disney also began their social media accounts for Disney+ on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. In its most recent social media post on these accounts, Disney released a short clip that flashes through classic Disney films accompanied by the statement “Some of the most beloved stories in the world are moving to a new home.” The profile pages across the accounts advertise the fact that the streaming service will also feature films from Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic.
Amongst the company’s most anticipated films and shows for Disney+ include a live action remake of Lady and the Tramp, as well as upcoming Marvel shows like Loki, WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,
