Disney Releases Watchlist To Catch Up To ‘Avengers:Doomsday’

Disney just released a watchlist on their platform, Disney+,  that contains all the movies to watch before the release of Avengers:Doomsday. The list includes movies as early as X-Men (2000), which is pre creation of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and more of the recent films like the Fantastic Four: First Steps. The watchlist only consists of 15 movies and one show out of the 60+ projects all tied to the MCU. The show included in the list is Loki, starring Tom Hiddleston (Avengers) and Owen Wilson (The Royal Tenenbaums).

Movies excluded from the list include character spin-offs like Captain America: Winter Soldier and team up movies like Avengers: Age of Ultron. It is not confirmed why Disney left out other movies of the list. However, during Comic-Con this year, Marvel released a future map of what other projects to expect, such as a Ghost Rider film starring Ryan Gosling (Drive) and a new Black Panther movie with David Jonsson (Alien: Romulus). All these projects come out after Avengers: Doomsday, so there is no confirmation if these projects will affect the current MCU timeline. Among the other projects, Marvel has already confirmed a reboot for the X-Men franchise and are currently casting for characters.
