Disney has released a new trailer for their upcoming futuristic adventure Tomorrowland, and if you are someone who can’t get enough of George Clooney, robots sporting ray guns, and flying bathtubs (that’s right, flying bathtubs!) you won’t be disappointed! Check out the new trailer below.
As is true of so many of the upcoming summer blockbusters, the new trailer avoids giving away too many plot points, but definitely ups the action quotient from earlier trailers (which can be seen here and here). We can glean from it that Clooney’s scientist has to transport a teenage girl (Britt Robertson, The Longest Ride) to Tomorrowland, ostensibly to save the future, if the film’s ‘Fight for Tomorrow’ tag is accurate. What is on full display, though, is the film’s no-holds-barred firepower and awesome special effects.
Hugh Laurie (TV’s House), Tim McGraw (The Blind Side), and Keegan-Michael Key (the upcoming Vacation reboot) join Clooney and Robertson in the cast.
Brad Bird (Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol) has his second go as a live-action director with Tomorrowland. He was previously best known for his animated work on such films as The Incredibles and The Iron Giant. He’s directing from a script he co-wrote with Lost‘s Damon Lindelof.
In addition to the release of the trailer, Disney has announced a special presentation of the film will screen in IMAX theaters beginning May 1. Six minutes of first-look footage, with an introduction by director Bird, will screen immediately before Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron in all domestic and selected international IMAX theaters for the duration of that film’s run.
Tomorrowland hits theaters on May 22nd.
