Disney Releases New ‘Frozen’ Shorts on YouTube Featuring Olaf

Despite COVID-19 halting production on a ton of films, Disney has still found a way to create content for younger audiences. Disney animator Hyrum Osmond and Josh Gad have teamed up to create new shorts featuring the popular Frozen character Olaf. Unlike most online content from Disney, these shorts are actually being featured for free on YouTube as opposed to their streaming service Disney+.

The shorts are known as At Home With Olaf, and will focus on the lovable snowman doing a few at home activities, all created safely from the comforts of Osmond and Gad’s homes. The first short, Fun With Snow, features Olaf playing with snowballs and it even one of the little snowman from the short Frozen Fever. The short is only about 40 seconds long so it can be assumed that any future cli[s from Osmond and Gad will also being under a minute long.

While it’s unknown how many shorts in total will be made, and how long Osmond and Gad will be making them, they made will serve as a good way to entertain families self quarantining themselves in the mist of the pandemic. It also shows that there still can be home productivity from talented animators and actors to keep us entertained during these harsh times.

Ryan Pineda: When it comes to film, animation, video games and other mediums, I can discuss for hours about how much on why certain films and animated media made me the person I am today. I adore the artistic merit that comes from a lot of pop-culture media and will definitely love to have a conversation about favorite movies any day! I have graduated in 2017 with a BA in Film and Television at the University of Arizona. Been passionate about writing about films due to always having an interesting outlook on the medium. Will always see a film and will definitely be sure to recommend it to someone that I know for a fact would love that movie. Not only that but will also give reasons for why I think that film did or did not work as a movie, and the same can go for other pieces of media like television, video games and especially animated projects.
