Disney’s CEO has declared changes for employees.
Returning CEO Bob Iger has made a new change regarding remote workers. Iger has ordered these workers to return to the office four days a week starting March 1st. Employees will be in corporate offices from Monday to Thursday.
Iger announced the news through an email sent to the employees regarding the information. One of the reasons Iger mentions bringing back employees to the offices is that the employees work better in person.
CNN obtained the email, which details Iger’s news.
“As I’ve been meeting with teams throughout the company over the past few months, I’ve been reminded of the tremendous value in being together with the people you work with,” Iger wrote in the memo. “In a creative business like ours, nothing can replace the ability to connect, observe, and create with peers that comes from being physically together, nor the opportunity to grow professionally by learning from leaders and mentors.”
Iger returned to Disney in November 2022, replacing former CEO Bob Chapek after a tumultuous and short tenure. At a recent Town Hall meeting, Iger discussed some of the company’s issues, including Disney’s current hiring freeze and heavy losses stemming from Disney+. He also emphasized that creativity is the top priority in getting the reins back.
