Disney and Marvel Fire Up ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ Hype Early With First Production Featurette

Disney and Marvel are gearing up to enter their cinematic universe’s largest step in pure spectacular superhero fashion.

The first glimpse of the hugely anticipated third installment of the Avengers trilogy, Avengers: Infinity War, came in the form of a production journal style featurette. The nearly three-and-a-half minute video highlights the film’s first days of production back in late January in Atlanta, the interactions between fan-favorite Marvel Universe staples like Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Pratt, as well as production stills of the set, and plot details and concept art of things to come.

The mere sight of Downey Jr., Pratt, and relative newcomer Tom Holland together on screen is bound to get fans excited as Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige promises that the Avengers will meet the Guardians of the Galaxy in the film. Seeing team-ups of heroes like Spider-Man and Star-Lord, as well as Rocket Raccoon and Thor seen in the production art, is sure to be more than worth the price of a ticket in any comic fan’s book.

Directed by Marvel veterans Anthony and Joe Russo, Avengers: Infinity War is due out in Marvel’s favorite yearly slot of late Spring on May 4th, 2018. Marvel’s upcoming slot leading up to Infinity War includes 2017’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, due May 5th, as well as Spider-Man: Homecoming, Thor: Ragnorok, and 2018’s Black Panther.

Check out the video below now and let the fan theories roll in.

Austin Allison: Born and raised in Tucson, AZ, I have been obsessed with cartoons, animation, and film in general for as long as I've known how to talk and draw. From Disney animation to indie movies, filmmaking was always the purest form of art to me. I majored in Film and Television Studies and minored in Studio Art at the University of Arizona. The greatest aspect of studying film was developing a creative and critical eye for a medium that I had loved for so long, but couldn't explain why I loved it until now.
