Director David Cronenberg Returns With ‘Crimes Of The Future’

Director David Cronenberg is back after an eight-year hiatus with his new version of Crimes Of The Future. The trailer is among the most unusual and frankly unappetizing videos to be floating on Youtube, and that is saying something.

NEON had already released a trailer during the CinemaCon a few weeks back, according to IndieWire. The full feature film is set to release during the Cannes festival and Cronenberg has already declared that he expects walk-outs from the film within the first five minutes of viewing. The film brings the director back to his beginnings in the body horror genre. In this case, anomalous surgery is done as a form of performance in front of an audience and there seems to be a sexual aspect to it apparently. The film includes a fantastic cast with Viggo Mortensen (Green Book, A History of Violence, Lord of the Rings), Leah Seydoux (James Bond: No Time To Die, Blue Is The Warmest Color), and Kristen Stewart (Spencer, American Ultra, Twilight) among others.

The film includes much bizarre and macabre imagery. Crimes Of The Future is definitely not a feature film for viewers with a light stomach. Enjoy the trailer beneath the article; just be sure to not eat while you watch it.
