DC Studios Announce David Corenswet As Superman And Rachel Brosnahan As Lois Lane In ‘Superman: Legacy’

DC Studios has recently revealed a major casting decision for the upcoming Superman: Legacy film. After a rigorous selection process, the DC Studios have officially cast David Corenswet as Clark Kent/Superman and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane. The film, directed by James Gunn, is set to breathe new life into the beloved DC characters.

The decision to cast Corenswet and Brosnahan came after a series of intense screen tests, where the actors had to embody their characters in full costume. These tests took place over two days, with one day dedicated to showcasing the actors in their iconic Superman attire. It’s suspected that all parties involved were keen on finalizing the casting before the potential SAG-AFTRA strike.

While Warner Bros has not confirmed its attendance at the upcoming Comic-Con in San Diego, there is a possibility that the actors could be introduced during the studio’s Hall H panel. However, if the SAG-AFTRA strike occurs, Corenswet and Brosnahan would be unable to promote the film, as strike guidelines would prohibit members from endorsing any projects during a strike.

Directed by James Gunn, known for his work on Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy films and DC’s The Suicide Squad, Superman: Legacy screenplay is rumored to be heavily influenced by the original Superman comics. The film is a significant part of the first phase of Warner Bros and DC Studios’ revamped slate, as Gunn and DC co-chair Peter Safran outlined earlier this year.
