While most movie news websites have been focusing on the upcoming live action Batman movie, Warner Brothers’ animation department has been making some interesting super hero movies. Just recently the trailer for the upcoming animated movie Batman: Soul of the Dragon was released.
The trailer reveals that the story will take place in a 1970’s version of Gotham City, and the movie takes inspiration from 70’s style martial art movies. According to Comic Book Resources Batman: Soul of the Dragon will be rated R, and will features some rather violent action scenes. Also several popular DC characters will be appearing in the movie along side Batman including Lady Shiva, Bronze Tiger, and Richard Dragon.
Sam Liu is directing the movie. IGN reports that Batman or Bruce Wayne will be voiced by David Giuntoli. Kelly Hu and Michael Jai White will be reprising their roles as Lady Shiva and Bronze Tiger respectively. Hu previously voiced Lady shiva in the video game Batman: Arkham Origins, and White played Bronze Tiger in live action on the TV series Arrow. Mark Dacascos will be voicing Richard Dragon. Other voice actors in the movie include Robin Atkin Downes, Eric Bauza, Chris Cox, Jamie Chung, Grey Griffin, James Hong, Josh Keaton, Erica Luttrell, and Patrick Seitz.
