Late Night with the Devil actor David Dastmalchian answered a number of eager fan questions on day two of WonderCon 2025. It’s no wonder he was able to fill a large conference room with versatile credits like The Dark Knight (his first role), Oppenheimer, and The Suicide Squad.
A couple questions came in about Dastmalchian’s upcoming show, Murderbot. The Apple TV series is based upon Martha Wells’ book, The Murderbot Diaries. He described Wells as a genius and the show as nothing he’s ever seen before. Dastmalchian praised Alex Skarsgård as the robot, explaining how he was able to provide introspection to the role. He received a roar of laughter when he commented, “Getting choked by Alex Skarsgård… it’s pretty dreamy.”
In terms of any other comic book characters, Dastmalchian feels grateful for the ones he’s already played. If he had to choose though, he wants to use motion capture performance to play Solomon Grundy or Morbius. He said, “I thought [motion capture performance] would be restricting, but it was so liberating.”
