We’ve got another Indiegogo project for you. It’s another independent horror film (of course), titled The Void. The project is headed by Steve Kostanski and Jeremy Gillespie, writers and directors both, who have worked on horror and sci-fi fare like Father’s Day and Manborg (both produced by Astron-6), plus the segment “W is for Wish” from ABCs of Death 2.
Here’s the film’s official synopsis:
In the middle of a routine patrol, officer Daniel Carter happens upon a blood-soaked figure limping down a deserted stretch of road. He rushes the young man to a nearby rural hospital staffed by a skeleton crew, only to discover that patients and personnel are transforming into something inhuman. As the horror intensifies, Carter leads the other survivors on a hellish voyage into the subterranean depths of the hospital in a desperate bid to end the nightmare before it’s too late.
One of the The Void‘s selling points is the fact that Gillespie and Kostanski prefer to use practical effects (in the tradition of Creepshow, The Thing, The Fly, Re-Animator, and most horror/sci-fi films made before the 2000’s) in their projects rather than cheap CGI (a predominate trend in the aforementioned genres) and swear to continue doing so.
Recently, The Void‘s crew scouted locations for a crazy looking hospital to use as the prime shooting location. Check out their efforts in the video below.
