Ever since the news of Spider-Man 3 was announced, rumors began to swirl around about who would make an appearance in the film, and one of the casting rumors were of Daredevil actor Charlie Cox, but none could be confirmed until now. ComicBook.com confirmed that Cox would reprise his role as Matt Murdock from the Daredevil Netflix series alongside Tom Holland’s Peter Parker. Cox was seen on the set of the movie, but nothing has been officially confirmed by Cox or Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige.
It is unclear if it will be the same version of Daredevil that fans have come to love from the Netflix series or someone different from the multiple universes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It is possible there will be many changes to the character as the new Spider-Man movie will have a massive cast, not just returning MCU veterans but also Sony’s Spider-Man franchises.
There is a disconnect between Marvel’s Netflix shows or MCU movies. While theoretically part of the same shared world, there was little interaction, and the two appeared to exist in their opposite areas in the Marvel Universe.
Don’t get too excited just yet until it is officially announced, so take this news with a grain of salt.
