Warner Bros. unveiled a surprise for Comic-Con attendees: the first look at Justice League. The film’s director Zack Snyder took to Twitter shortly thereafter to give us a look for ourselves at the biggest display of the DC Cinematic Universe to date. In the footage first shown, Bruce Wayne (a returning Ben Affleck) is assembling his crew to take on a dangerous new threat. He recruits “fish talker” Aquaman (Jason Momoa) and “really fast” The Flash (Ezra Miller); Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) and Cyborg (Ray Fisher) also make appearances, while Superman (Henry Cavill) does not.
The impressive first look at Justice League seems to be departing slightly from the darker-than-thou tone of Snyder’s critically panned Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice – humor is apparent on first sight. This comes after what has been fairly contentious few months for Warner Bros. as the studio has made some fairly abrupt changes since that film’s opening this past spring.
After wowing with the visually striking first trailer for Wonder Woman on the very same panel, Warner Bros. and DC looks to already have sewn up some confidence with the Comic-Con crowd. Justice League hit theaters on November 17, 2017.
