Christopher Plummer Joins John Travolta and Tye Sheridan in ‘The Forger’

Oscar winner Christopher Plummer (Beginners) is set to join John Travolta (Savages) and Tye Sheridan (Mud) in the upcoming heist film The Forger. Plummer, who holds the record as the oldest person to ever win an Oscar (82), is sure to add a wealth of sophistication and experience to an already talented cast.

The Forger centers around Ray Cutter (Travolta), a former child art prodigy and petty thief who buys his way out of prison to be with his ailing son (Sheridan). Ray will need the help of his father (Plummer) to perform a big heist for the syndicate who financed his release.

It will be exciting to watch Tye Sheridan expand his acting chops in this new role. Sheridan, who got his start in the 2011 Terrence Malick film Tree of Life, is coming off a breakout role in Mud and is already being praised for his performance in Joe, for which he won the Marcello Mastroianni Award for the best upcoming young actor and the Venice Film Festival.

The Forger will be directed by Philip Martin (BBC’s Wallander) from the script by Richard D’Ovidio (The Call).

Filming is set to begin this October in Boston.
