Christopher Abbott Joins the Cast of Tina Fey’s ‘The Taliban Shuffle’

Christopher Abbott (A Most Violent Year, HBO’s Girls) is the latest addition to the cast of Tina Fey’s upcoming film based on Kim Barker’s memoir, The Taliban Shuffle. In addition to producing, Fey will star as Barker, war journalist, alongside Margot Robbie (The Wolf of Wall Street) and Martin Freeman (The Hobbit). Though it deals with a heavy subject matter – the difficulties Barker faced as a foreign woman in the Middle East – the film is reportedly a dark comedy, with Ian Bryce (Pain & Gain) and Saturday Night Live creator Lorne Michaels as co-producers. Abbott most recently starred with Cynthia Nixon in James White, which premiered at this year’s Sundance Festival and won the NEXT Audience Award.
