Content Media has announced that it will handle international distribution of the quirky rom-com Comet. Writer/director Sam Esmail’s feature debut, which premiered at this year’s Los Angeles Film Festival, is set to be distributed in the US by IFC Films. The film, starring Emmy Rossum (The Phantom of the Opera) and Justin Long (Tusk) centers on the star-crossed romance between Kimberly and Dell. Esmail has structured the film with non-linear narrative, following the couple for six years, choosing to fast-forward and rewind to key points in their history. President of Sundance Selects/IFC Films Jonathan Sehring declared “With his feature film debut, Sam Esmail has created a romance for the ages”. The film is eyeing a December 5, 2014 domestic release.
