Following his success with last year’s Birdman, director Alejandro González Iñárritu’s next release will be the historical survival drama The Revenant. Based on a true story, the film stars Leonardo DiCaprio as Hugh Glass, a nineteenth-century trapper who is injured and left for dead by a member of his team (Tom Hardy). Abandoned in the wilderness, Glass embarks on a quest to survive the harsh conditions of the American West and track down his traitorous former comrade.
The Revenant is set for limited release in December 2015 and wide release in January 2016.
