Check Out Posters for Dreamwork Animator’s First Live-Action Film, ‘Monster Hunt’

Raman Hui has worked on numerous animated projects for DreamWorks (including Shrek, Madagascar, and Puss in Boots); he’s directed the short films, Kung Fu Panda: Secrets of the Furious Five and Puss in Boots: The Three Diablos; he was also the co-director of the worldwide hit Shrek the Third. So, it should come as no surprise that his first solo live-action feature film directorial effort, Monster Hunt, will heavily feature some computer animation.

According to TwitchFilmMonster Hunt will be a “family-oriented fantasy, in which the young king of the monsters tries to make peace between the world of humans and the world of the monsters.” The two posters released for the film show off some of the aforementioned monsters, especially one mountain-dwarfing behemoth that looks kind of like what would happen if you cross bred one of the kaiju from Pacific Rim with the titular rabbit-like spirit from My Neighbor Totoro.

Monster Hunt is set for release sometime later this year.
