Charles Dance Added To ‘The Batman Part II’

According to a Deadline exclusive, DC Studios is considering adding Charles Dance (The Phantom of the Opera, And Then There Were None) to The Batman Part II cast and are currently nearing a deal. DC Studios does not have further comment on Dance apart from the announcement. The film will be directed and written by Matt Reeves (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, War for the Planet of the Apes).

The main star of the film is of course Robert Pattinson (Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, The Twilight Sage: New Moon).  The actor is in store for a major 2026 leading into his return as the Caped Crusader in 2027, starring in The Drama, The Odyssey, and Dune: Part Three. It is hinted that Dance will be playing the father of district attorney Harvey Dent, Charles Dent. Harvey will be played by Sebastian Stan (Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Once Upon a Time) and his wife will be played by Scarlett Johansson (He’s Just Not That Into You, Fly Me to the Moon). The producers include Dylan Clark (Let It Snow, The Mountain Between Us), Peter Safran (Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, Shazam! Fury of the Gods) and James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy, Avengers: Endgame). Filming will begin during the springtime and the film will premiere October 1, 2027.

Dance is represented by Tavistock Wood Management. His most notable roles recently have been the father of Victor Frankenstein in the film Frankenstein, directed by Guillermo del Toro (The Book of Life, Puss in Boots) and Tywin Lannister on Game of Thrones.
