Cary Elwes Joins Guy Ritchie’s Spy Thriller ‘Five Eyes’

Cary Elwes is set to star in the upcoming Miramax film. Miramax is re-teaming with director Guy Ritchie and star Jason Statham for the fourth film to make the spy thriller Five Eyes. The film was written by Ivan Atkinson and Marn Davies, who wrote with Ritchie, The Gentlemen that re-teamed Ritchie and Miramax and starred Matthew McConaughey and Charlie Hunnam.

Elwes is set to play Nathan Jasmine, who will oversee Statham’s character’s mission. Aubrey Plaza (Parks and Recreation) will also star in the thriller.

Five Eyes follows M16 guns-and-steel agent Orson Fortune (Statham), who is hired by the global intelligence alliance ‘Five Eyes’ to track down and avoid exporting dangerous experimental weapons technology that aims to destroy the world. Reluctantly partnered with CIA high-tech expert, Fortune must set out on a globe-trotting mission where he is going to have to use all of his charisma, creativity, and stealth to hunt down and infiltrate billionaire arms dealers.

Back in September 2020, Miramax CEO Bill Block said in a statement, “We’re excited to be reunited with the STX team, as well as Ritchie and Statham, whose undeniable chemistry, philosophy and talent will surely attract a massive appeal from audiences worldwide.”

Filming Five Eyes will begin in January 2021 in Turkey and Qatar.
