‘Captain Marvel’s’ Lashana Lynch Rumored To Be Next 007 in ‘Bond 25’

Bond 25 is moving ahead into production and much hype is surrounding what new ground the film will cover. As Daniel Craig’s last 007 film, Bond 25 has sparked many questions about the future of the franchise.

Today, Daily Mail announced that the answer lies with Lashana Lynch, breakout star of Captain Marvel, who will be taking over the title of 007. She won’t be the new Bond exactly, but rather will an entirely new character named Nomi, who assumes the title from Craig’s character. Nothing has been completely confirmed from an official source, but more information is likely to arrive soon as the film’s production moves ahead.

It seems like a bold move for the franchise, and writer Phoebe Waller-Bridge may be the one to thank for it. As creator of Fleabag and Killing Eve, she is a hot commodity right now and has proven her ability to adeptly move between action, drama, and comedy. She was brought on board to help move the series into the modern age, and with the addition of Lynch, things would seem to be moving along quite well.

In addition to Captain Marvel, Lynch has recently starred in American TV series Still Star-Crossed and UK series Bulletproof.

With such a star-studded cast including Christoph Waltz, Rami Malek, Ralph Fiennes, and many more, all working under the direction of Cary Joji Fukunaga, it is sure to be an epic finale to Craig’s time as Bond.
