‘Captain Marvel’ Sequel ‘The Marvels’ Coming July 2023

Nia Dacosta directs the new movie The Marvels starring Brie Larson and Iman Vellani set to premiere in July 2023. ‘The Marvels’ is based on a screenplay by Megan McDonnell and will follow the 2019 “Captain Marvel” film and also be a continuation of the Disney + series “Ms.Marvel,” starring Iman Vellani.

It features many familiar faces from the Marvel universe as well as some newcomers, such as Samuel L. Jackson returning as Nick Fury and Zawe Ashton joining the cast. Showrunner Bisha K Ali told Indiewire that the goal of the “Ms. Marvel” Disney + series was to set the stage for the upcoming movie.

The sequel marks the first time that Captain Marvel and Ms. Marvel team up together. There are a few things we know about the continuation, even though the trailer has not been released online. We will see Marvel characters Nick Fury and Teynoah Parris’ Monica up in space. Captain Marvel and Ms. Marvel are apparently able to use their powers together due to a portal created by Fury and Parris’ Monica, causing them to meet as they swap between universes. Eventually, they find a way to work together.

The Marvels is set to premiere in theaters on July 28, 2023.
