Disney and Marvel jumped the gun a bit in premiering their prime Super Bowl spot for the eagerly anticipated latest Marvel film Captain America: Civil War. Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo (Captain America: The Winter Soldier), this looks to be perhaps the most dramatic outing yet in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the team is torn apart after governmental regulations about superheros take effect.
Are you Team Cap (Chris Evans) or Team Iron Man (Robert Downey, Jr.)? Nearly everyone in the Marvel fold is slated to appear including Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch), Don Cheadle (War Machine), Anthony Mackie (Falcon), Sebastian Stan (Winter Soldier), Emily Van Camp (Agent 13), Frank Grillo (Crossbones) and Paul Bettany (Vision). Oscar winner William Hurt (Kiss of the Spider Woman) also returns to the Marvel realm, reprising his role of Thaddeus ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross from the 2008 The Incredible Hulk. Additions to the team for Captain America: Civil War include Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther and Tom Holland as Spider-Man. Noticeably absent from the proceedings are Mark Ruffalo (The Hulk) and Chris Hemsworth (Thor), whose storylines will be picked up in Thor: Ragnarok. Captain America: Civil War will hit theaters on May 6th. Check out the latest trailer below:
