‘Bumblebee’ Director Travis Knight To Possibly Direct ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy 3’

After the controversial firing of James Gunn, director of Guardians Of The Galaxy and Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2, Marvel put the development of the third film on hold. Since then there has been no word on who is going to finish the trilogy, with many speculating and hoping that Taika Waititi, who directed the critically acclaimed Thor: Ragnarok, would take over. But The DisInsider recently revealed that Marvel Studios might be looking at rising star Travis Knight to helm the next film in the popular series.

Travis Knight is best known for his animation work on Coraline, The Boxtrolls, ParaNorman, and Kubo and the Two Strings (which he also directed). But Knight’s most recent director credit is the new Bumblebee movie, which The DisInsider reports has been garnering fair amount of praise from those who have seen an early cut of the film. Although this decision does seem plausible, it should not be taken as a concrete fact. The future of the Guardians films is still unknown, but this is a promising step forward for further developments.

There is still no word on when Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3 will go into production, let alone be released. Although this may be disappointing for Marvel fans, the Guardians will be featured in the highly anticipated Avengers 4, which is releasing May 3, 2019.

Keidan Chavez: I am an undergraduate attending Whittier College majoring in screen writing and journalism. I love to watch movies, play Red Dead Redemption 2 and read whenever I get the chance. I will watch anything related to Wright, Tarantino, The Coen Brothers or Nolan. I will also play anything made by Naughty Dog or Rockstar Games. I love being able to experience great stories, especially when I am able to share that experience with others. I also love learning about movies and sharing that knowledge to those that are just as passionate.
