Detectives attempting to debunk specific supernatural phenomena is typically a common trope in horror films, and this new horror film, Ghost Stories, looks to use the trope but push it further. The trailer truly makes the film seem like a unique style exercise in the terrifying genre. Check it out:
Ghost Stories focuses on the “myth killer” Phillip Goodman, as he continues to dissuade people from thinking supernatural occurrences exist. After Goodman receives a package from his believed-to-be-deceased mentor, Charles Cameron, he begins to suspect that Cameron was never dead. Goodman is tasked by his former mentor to investigate three different cases, drawing him deeper into a world which he thought he had completely proven false.
Andy Nyman (The Commuter) stars as Goodman with solid supporting cast including Martin Freeman (The Hobbit), Alex Lawther (Black Mirror), and Paul Whitehouse (Alice Through the Looking Glass). The film is being directed and written by the team of Nyman and Jeremy Dyson. The film is set to release in the United States and worldwide on April 13th.
