Brie Larson Plans for Two Films at Netflix, Next Up ‘Lady Business’

Brie Larson is riding the high of the hype leading up to Captain Marvel and is gaining more momentum with partnership with Netflix. Larson, along with A Star is Born producer Lynette Howard Taylor, made a two-film worldwide deal with Netflix for films, Unicorn Store and Lady Business.

Unicorn Store, Larson’s directing debut, will hit Netflix on April 5 as the first part of the deal. The film, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival, follows a woman who moves back in with her parents and is then mysteriously invited to a store that makes her reconsider what it really means to grow up. The cast also includes Joan Cusack, Bradley Whitford, Mamoudou Athie, Hamish Linklater, and Samuel L. Jackson.

Lady Business, which Larson will star in and possibly direct, is based on a true story about two female entrepreneurs who invent a fictional male company co-owner to get ahead in the corporate realm. Howell Taylor will produce with Samantha Housman of 51 Entertainment.

Another one of Larson’s recent projects is Just Mercy, a legal drama also starring Michael B. Jordan and is slated for release next year. And of course, Captain Marvel hits theaters on March 9. Larson has a very busy year ahead and is sure to continue making a name for herself in not only acting but directing as well.
