M. Night Shyamalan‘s Glass is poised to bring together The Beast, Mr. Glass, and David Dunn, now dubbed The Overseer, in a superhero team-up movie like no other. Combining the characters from 2000’s Unbreakable and 2016’s Split, Universal Pictures brings stars Bruce Willis, Samuel L. Jackson, and James McAvoy together in an explosive, all-new comic-book thriller. From Unbreakable, Bruce Willis returns as the indestructible David Dunn, newly minted with the nickname The Overseer, as does Samuel L. Jackson as Elijah Price, known by his supervillain pseudonym Mr. Glass. James McAvoy returns as Kevin Wendell Crumb, a.k.a. The Beast, reprising his role from Split as a dangerous man who suffers from Dissociative Identity Disorder.
Following the end of Split, Glass finds Dunn, Price, and Crumb in an asylum undergoing treatment by Dr. Ellie Staple (Sarah Paulson from American Horror Story and Ocean’s 8). After they escape, Dunn pursues Crumb’s superhuman figure of The Beast in a series of escalating encounters orchestrated by Price. Joining the action are Unbreakable’s Spencer Treat Clark and Charlayne Woodard, who reprise their roles as Dunn’s son and Price’s mother. Anya Taylor-Joy returns from Split as Casey Cooke, the only surviving captor of The Beast.
Glass is produced by Shyamalan and Blumhouse Production’s Jason Blum, who also produced the writer/director’s previous two films for Universal. A Blinding Edge Pictures and Blumhouse production, Glass launches in North America on January 18, 2019. Check out the new trailer below for a horrifying glimpse of the battle to come.
