Bradley Cooper’s Newly Retitled ‘Burnt’ Adds Uma Thurman to Ensemble

It’s the film of many names – originally titled The Chef until the 2014 Jon Favreau film laid claim to the name, it went on to hold the title Adam Jones for over year. Now, the Weinstein Company has finally settled on Burnt for the John Wells (August: Osage County) comedy.

The film stars Bradley Cooper (American Sniper) as Adam Jones, an infamous chef who ruined his career with a downward spiral of drugs and ego. To gain back his reputation, he cleans up and returns to London where he attempts to run a new kitchen and receive the coveted three Michelin stars of the restaurant world.

The cast is comprised of an impressive ensemble thus far including Daniel Bruhl (Rush), Lily James (Cinderella), Jamie Dornan (Fifty Shades of Grey), Emma Thompson (Love Actually), Alicia Vikander (Ex Machina), Omar Sy (Jurassic World), Matthew Ryhs (TV’s The Americans), and Cooper’s Sniper co-star Sienna Miller. The cast has now added Uma Thurman (Kill Bill) as another big name for its lineup.

Thurman’s major film appearances have wound down as of late with her last headlined film being the 2010 indie Ceremony. Her most notable credits of recent history include Lars von Trier’s Nymphomaniac: Vol. 1 (in small scene which garnered her a spot in our Best Performances of 2014) as well as last year’s forgotten comedy Movie 43. This casting could likely mark some sort of a return to big name films for the actress when also accompanied by the rumored Kill Bill: Vol. 3 sequel.

Burnt is currently in its filming stages and has an expected October 23, 2015 release date.
