Bob Persichetti And Justin K. Thompson Landed As Directors For ‘Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse’

While its delay set it back a measurable distance, updates are still actively coming out for the next part of Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse, dubbed Beyond The Spider-Verse. One of the recent updates was the reveal of Bob Persichetti and Justin K. Thompson being attached as directors.

Across The Spider-Verse came out in 2024, serving as the follow-up to the award-winning Into The Spiderverse.

The film saw Miles Morales struggling with his role as Spider-Man when he made a discovery that shook the very foundations of his role as a superhero.

Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are returning for the next film as producers, the same role they occupied in the other two entries.

They’re also the creative minds behind other projects like The Lego Movie, The Mitchells Vs. The Machines, and Cocaine Bear.

As Hollywood Reporter notes, the film has experienced trouble while attempting to get itself off the ground. It was intended to release earlier in the year but faced many issues that would result in the film being taken off the release slate while it’s being worked on, with no set premiere date.

Hollywood Reporter, who was also one of the first to report on the acquisition of directors, stated Lord and Miller expressed their happiness towards the duo now being attached as co-directors. They also worked on Across The Spider-Verse with them, with Thompson as director and Persichetti as executive producer, while also directing Into The Spider-Verse.

“There is nothing more rewarding than collaborating with creative partners with bold vision and brilliant execution like Bob and Justin.  We are thrilled to work with them once again to create a beautiful and satisfying conclusion to this story.”
