Black Widow, Marvel’s upcoming superhero spy movie, will allegedly contain over 30 minutes of IMAX footage, shown in the 1.90:1 aspect ratio that provides 26% more viewing area. This news was first broken at an IMAX earnings call and though not confirmed, it is now believed that these scenes with IMAX footage will most likely be the actions scenes glimpsed in the trailer.
Marvel’s upcoming movie will return Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff and will take place shortly after the events in Captain America: Civil War. The film boasts an all star cast with Florence Pugh set to portray the second Black Widow, Yelena Belova. David Harbour will also star in the film as the comic character Red Guardian, with Rachel Weisz playing Melina Vostokoff. Black Widow is directed by acclaimed director Cate Shortland from a script by Eric Pearson.
Marvel Studios is reportedly planning to release a new trailer in the near future with the film holding unto a November release date. With the Covid- 19 pandemic reassuring in the United States and in various territories across the world, this is subject to change. Movie lovers everywhere can only hope and keep thinking positive, but at least we will know that Black Widow, whenever it releases, will contain some pretty exciting IMAX sequences.
