‘Black Panther’ Continues To Slash Box-Office Records With $108 Million Second Weekend

Marvel and Disney have done it once again. Black Panthereasily the most popular film in theaters in February, continues to destroy box office records left and right. First, by the end of the weekend, if the estimates from Deadline are correct, the film will have earned $400 million in the domestic box office, making it the second-fastest movie to reach that point in ten days, tying with Jurassic World. Only Star Wars: The Force Awakens reached that feat quicker, arriving there at a mere eight days.

Black Panther continues to impress with its second weekend totals at the box office, which look to be around $108 million, making it the second-highest earning domestic box office of all time only behind, once again, Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Currently, it has made $700 million worldwide. The significantly high box office numbers are attributed to the powerful cast, awesome cinematography, and characters that are more than just a hero with a cape. Rotten Tomatoes currently holds the film at an impressive 97%.

Judging by the impressive numbers at the box office, we definitely expect Black Panther to continue to break records and possibly aim for one of the top spots of the final box office numbers. The film is also seeing huge success worldwide. The international box office for Black Panther currently sits over $300 million, leaving the film with a $700 million global box office, an extremely impressive feat. What else can we expect from the film, and will Avengers: Infinity War put up just as impressive numbers?
