Three more have joined the ‘Billionaire Boys Club.’ According to Variety, Bokeem Woodbine (TV’s Fargo), Billie Lourd (Star Wars: The Force Awakens), and Jeremy Irvine (War Horse) have joined the film based on the 1987 miniseries of the same name.
The film follows Joe Hunt (Ansel Elgort, The Fault in Our Stars) and Dean Karny (Taron Egerton, Kingsman: The Secret Service) who ran Ponzi scheme in the 1980’s called the Billionaire Boys Club. The group was funded by an investment by Ron Levin (Kevin Spacey, Elvis & Nixon) that turned out to be worthless and led Hunt to murder in order to raise money.
Woodbine will play a bouncer for the club who gets wrapped up in their crimes while Irvine will play Kyle Biltmore who was a part of the club. Lourd will play Biltmore’s love interest. The film also stars Lourd’s Scream Queens co-star Emma Roberts (Scream 4), Suki Waterhouse (Insurgent), and Judd Nelson (Steel). The film is directed by James Cox (Wonderland) and written by Cox with his frequent collaborator Captain Mauzner (She’s Funny That Way). The project is currently shooting and is expected to release next year.
Audiences will get their film intro to Lourd when Star Wars: The Force Awakens releases this week in yet-to-be announced role. Woodbine is coming off a widely-acclaimed performance on the the TV series Fargo, which just finished its second season. Irvine has bounced around projects, most recently appearing in the film Stonewall, about the riots of the same name.
