Although its Western release is still a few days away, Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle has already broken records. In the last 52 days, the popular anime film has already amassed over 22 million viewers. This breaks the record set by its predecessor, Demon Slayer: Mugen Train, by making over ¥31.43 billion, which translates to $213.3 million.
It is also reportedly the “fastest film to reach that milestone.” With these numbers, Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle is closing in on Spirited Away, Japan’s second highest-grossing film of all time at ¥31.68 billion domestically. While Infinity Castle might be the fastest to reach those numbers, Mugen Train still holds the record for highest-grossing film in Japan at ¥40.75 billion in its 2020 theatrical run.
Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle will hit theaters in the U.S. on September 12th, 2025. It adapts the first half of the Final Battle arc, as Tanjiro and the rest of the Demon Slayer Corps fight Muzan in the Infinity Castle. You can expect to see some upper ranks fighting there as well. It will also be great to see more of the amazing animation that Demon Slayer is known for.
