‘Beavis and Butt-Head’ Creator Mike Judge Reveals the Paramount+ Movie Comeback for the Pair with Middle-Aged Looks Fitting of Their Current Times

Back in the summer of 2020, rumors spread surrounding Beavis and Butt-Head would be set to return to Paramount+ for a brand new movie with creator Mike Judge returning to lead the reins. Updates since then have been sparse, but now Judge has taken to Twitter to announce not only an update but reveals what the duo will look like in the film, spoiler alert- they’re middle-aged.

“Beavis and Butt-Head will be returning this year with a brand new movie and more on Paramount+,” Judge wrote. “No exact date yet, but soon. They need some time to get back in shape.”

Creators at MTV Entertainment and Comedy Central are thrilled to be working with Judge and excited to be doubling down in the realm of adult animation. They feel as though Beavis and Butt-Head were the voice of a generation, and bringing them back to life as people navigating the world light-years from their own, allows for the perfect opportunity for the creators and the duo to get stupid again.

The original show, released in the ’90s, followed the pair as couch-potato, burnouts, but they quickly became pop culture icons- even though the entire series just followed them sitting on a couch watching and making fun of television.

Beavis and Butt-Head Do America was their first feature film that arrived in 1996, and the upcoming film will mark their second big-screen feature. Since being dormant after a one-season return in 2011, the beloved characters will no doubt be an interest to fans who long for the days of classic MTV.
