Barry Bostwick Will Play Santa Claus In New Film ‘Santa Girl’

Another Christmas film is in the works, and an unexpected Santa will be delivering presents this time. Barry Bostwick, the actor who starred alongside Michael J. Fox in Spin City and played Brad Majors in The Rocky Horror Picture Show, will be playing Santa Claus in Santa Girl, where he will be a much skinnier and business-oriented Claus, according to Variety.

Santa Girl will focus on the life of Santa Claus’s daughter, played by Jennifer Stone (Wizards of Waverly Place, Secondhand Lions), whose mother has passed away, which continues to haunt Mr. Claus some time after. After Stone’s character decides she wants to go to college to experience the “real world,” Santa is extremely reluctant but eventually allows her to attend. The film will then follow her journey through college and how she must keep a secret about her fairly famous father and her own magical powers.

Filming will begin within this month in Winchester, Virginia, where it will be directed by Blayne Weaver (Cut to the Chase, 6 Month Rule) with a script written by Patricia Harrington (The Secrets of Emily Blair, A Warden’s Ransom). We expect the film will release sometime next year, most likely in the month of either November or December.
