Avengers: Endgame has only just come out and it’s already smashing box office records. It is predicted to continue on this successful trend. The movie is also being met with glowing reviews. This is the third Avengers movie so it should come as no surprise that the film is doing so well.
The MCU has been building up to Avengers: Endgame for over a decade now so it makes sense that the movie has a run time of 3 hours. For many people, this run time is too long for them to sit through without a break. The New York Times and The Independent have reported that theaters in many countries including Egypt, Italy, Israel, and Switzerland have taken action and inserted an intermission in the middle of the movie.
Posts on Twitter revealed that theaters in Jerusalem and Zurich have edited in a 10-minute long intermission or “Pause” period during the film. According to some of the Tweets, the film was not designed to have an intermission so the transition made the viewing experience kind of awkward for some people.
Having an intermission in the middle of a long movie is quite common in countries like India, and in the past, many lengthy American movies had intermissions as well. However, no cinemas in America have announced plans to include an intermission during their screenings of Avengers: Endgame. So anyone going to see Avengers: Endgame in the United States is just going to have to “hold it” for the duration of the movie.
