The new month marks new arrivals onto various streaming services. This August some big titles coming to certain streamers.
On August 2nd, we will see Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes, one of the heavy hitters from the early summer season will hit Hulu.
Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes takes place generations after the reign of Caesar, in a world of apes who misconstrue his teachings. One young ape, however, takes it upon himself to correct these mistakes and those who wrongly enforce them. Hulu also offers the rest of the Planet Of The Apes films, going back to the 1968 classic.
On August 9th, Austin Butler led The Bikeriders which will be on Peacock. Based on the 1968 book by Danny Lyon, the film was initially supposed to be released in December of last year, but fell victim to SAG-AFTRA strike hindrances, resulting in it being shopped around to other distributors. It ended up with Focus Features, who gave it a theatrical run in June of this year.
August 1st saw Godzilla: Minus One Minus Color join Godzilla: Minus One on Netflix. Minus Color is a new black-and-white transfer of Toho’s latest Godzilla flick, handled by the team behind Minus One. It also marks the third time a Godzilla film has been in Black and White, following the original 1954 Godzilla, and 1955’s Godzilla Raids Again.
Variety, who also reported a slate of films coming to multiple services, noted other additions such as Pearl to Netflix on August 16th, The Instigators to Apple TV+ on August 9th, and Sasquatch Sunset coming to Paramount+ on August 26th.
