Arielle Holmes Joins Andrea Arnold’s ‘American Honey’

Arielle Holmes (Heaven Knows What) has joined American Honey, the upcoming movie from writer/director Andrea Arnold (Wuthering Heights), according to Deadline. The coming-of-age drama follows a teenage girl (Holmes) who joins a traveling magazine sales crew and gets caught up in the group’s hard partying ways.

Holmes is the latest to join the cast that also includes Shia LaBeouf (Charlie Countryman) and McCaul Lombardi (Lockheed). The actress is fairly new to film roles, having only starred in two films, the aforementioned Heaven Knows What and the upcoming Winter’s Dream. She has a storied personal life as a former heroin-addict with a nefarious boyfriend. She turned her experiences into the script for Heaven Knows What, in which she plays herself. It sounds like she will be pulling from her real life experiences once again for American Honey.

American Honey recently started shooting in Muskogee, Oklahoma. No release date has been announced at this time.
